In 2014 HydroHoist®, LLC celebrated its 50th anniversary – born and raised on Grand Lake o’ the Cherokees, which in 2015, now celebrates its 75th anniversary. Proud of our history together, we are honored to offer our best wishes for Grand Lake on its diamond anniversary.
After two years of grueling construction, the Pensacola Damn on Grand River was completed, creating what is said to be the largest lake in Oklahoma. Since its inception, Grand Lake has become a popular destination for recreational boating, fishing, vacationing and residential retirees. Because of its convenient Midwest location it has become home to many pro-bass fishing tournaments and attracts sail boaters from the east and west coasts. Grand Lake is one of only two major lakes in Oklahoma where residents are able to build directly on the lakefront.
HydroHoist’s inventor and founder, Henry Rutter, saw how quickly the popularity of Grand Lake was growing and understood there was a considerable need for protecting the investments of boat owners. His initiative resulted in the first patent for a hydro-pneumatic boat lift in 1964, called HydroHoist, launched at Hi-Lift Marina on Grand Lake. Once the word was spread about Rutter’s invention, the demand from boat owners on Grand Lake grew rapidly. HydroHoist is now an international distributor of boat lifts and thousands of boat owners trust in our product to protect their valuable investments.
