Key Takeaways
HydroHoist saw record-setting growth in both 2016 and 2017, outperforming industry averages without launching new products—proof of brand strength and market momentum.
Looking ahead to 2018, the company planned to expand with the HarborHoist launch, redesigned product lines, and capacity upgrades across major categories like shallow water tanks and front-mount series.
Leadership acknowledged internal strain from growth, pledging to address team bandwidth while also celebrating standout performance from its divisions like HyPower and RotoMoldUSA.
As the year is coming to a close I’d like to reflect and provide a look into 2018.
To properly weigh in on 2017 we must consider 2016 as a year-over-year comparison.
2016 was a tremendous year for us and largely accomplished without new product offerings. We significantly outpaced the industry average as it relates to many of the boating sectors we follow.
When forecasting HydroHoist Boat Lift sales percentages for 2017 we felt it would be difficult to exceed the results of ’16. While seeing continued strength of the boating sector, we understated our ’17 results. Never before has HydroHoist seen the growth we’ve experienced in the last two years and I see no letup for 2018. We will be ready for the full launch of the HarborHoist which is an ideal boat lift for saltwater and fixed-dock applications in freshwater – and will provide significant growth in 2018 and beyond.
In addition to the release of the HarborHoist we have the following anticipated product enhancements:
- Front Mount Series redesign
- Shallow Water tanks with increased capacities
- HydroPort Extreme accessories
- E-Series Redesign
The rocket growth that we’ve experienced the last two years has certainly come at a price and sacrifice as we largely have not increased our head count – resulting in an overworked employee team. I recognize this and we will plan to fill those gaps soon. I very much appreciate the team digging in and responding well with the added workload.
HyPower sales are significantly ahead of last year’s sales and on target to achieve an aggressive sales forecast for 2017. We look forward to our power pedestal division’s continued growth.
RotoMoldUSA – our plastics rotomolding division – has had a great year, and recently landed a large project out of Chicago. We are proud of our employees – who are considered among the best in the country at what they do! This is proven by the on-going business we have, as well as the new projects entrusted to us.
2018 will be a banner year for sales gains and product release and I believe a strong performance overall for HydroHoist with low inflation, stable commodity pricing and a strong marine economy.
None of this is possible without a capable and dependable team; I appreciate our employees’ efforts, expertise and sacrifices.
I wish all our employees, dealers, vendors and key partners a Merry Christmas and the hope of many blessings in the year to come
